About Eric Espinoza
Eric has a rich background in driving results through identity based leadership and coaching. He is passionate about supporting BIPOC, neurodiverse, and gender-diverse leaders, helping them maximize their gifts and meet their potential. Additionally, he works with organizations and teams to create inclusive environments where all people thrive and bring their whole selves to work.
Growing up in Houston, Texas, Eric experienced firsthand the challenges within the education system. These early experiences fueled his dedication to social justice and equity. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Sociology from Saint Louis University. Over the years, he has committed to breaking down barriers and ensuring that people have the opportunity to succeed, regardless of their background.
Eric's journey in education began as a teacher in the community he grew up in. He quickly moved into leadership roles, becoming a Dean and then a 6-12 Principal with YES Prep Public Schools. During his time as Principal at YES Prep Southwest, the school achieved remarkable success, including being ranked #252 in the nation by U.S. News and World Report. His focus wasn’t just on academic excellence but also on creating a nurturing environment where every student felt valued and supported.
After 15 years, Eric transitioned to the Director of Leadership Development role at KIPP Texas Public Schools. In this role, he coached and developed system leaders, ensuring they have the knowledge, skills, and mindset to lead effectively.
With hundreds of hours coaching diverse clients, Eric is a month away from completing his ICF ACC level I coaching certification through Rice University. These educational experiences have deepened his understanding of leadership and his ability to drive positive change. He is skilled at developing meaningful connections with people of different intersectional identities.
